Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett calls Seattle a “perfect place” for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.  Bennett, spoke about the former 49ers star Tuesday on the Seahawks flagship station 710AM in Seattle.

According to an ESPN.com report, Bennett said,  “I think that Kaepernick getting the opportunity to be on our team would be really cool, would really be a good place for him because you have a coach like coach [Pete] Carroll who is up for challenges like that. You have an owner who spends and gives back to the homeless. You’ve got players on your team that give back in the community. You’ve got Russell Wilson, who shows that our team is built around community. So this is a perfect place for him.”

On Monday Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the team was considering Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III as possible backups to starter Russell Wilson.

Kaepernick, who created a firestorm last season by choosing to kneel or sit during the national anthem in protest over US oppression of black people and people of color,   opted out of his contract with San Francisco on March 3rd. He spent 6 years with the 49ers, helping take them to Super Bowl XLVII.  He threw for 12,271 yards and 72 touchdowns while rushing for 23-hundred yards and 13 touchdowns while with the 49ers.

According to multiple reports, Kaepernick has said he will stand for the national anthem for the the coming NFL season.
