BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A world-famous cellist is coming to Bellingham next year.

Bellingham Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has released their schedule for the 2025-26 season, which is the symphony’s golden season.

To celebrate 50 years, cellist Yo-Yo Ma will be performing on April 26, 2026, during the “Harmony from Discord” show.

Ma, along with the BSO, will be performing Brahms’ “Nanie Op. 82,” Leshnoff’s “Of Thee I Sing” and Bach’s “Dona nobis pacem from the Mass in B minor” in the first half. The second half will be dedicated to Elgar’s “Cello concerto in E minor, Op. 85.”

Ma’s show will be an add-on to the regular season, and tickets for the show will go on sale for season ticket holders on May 12 and for the public the following week. This performance marks the cellist’s first-ever visit to Bellingham.

There will be six other shows during BSO’s golden season, including a Nutcracker performance in mid-December.
