BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Western Washington University (WWU) is shutting down some parking lots ahead of a summer construction project.

The school said that the two lots, located near the south entrance of the Sehome Arboretum, closed Wednesday and are expected to reopen in August.

Two pedestrian trails that lead to those parking lots are also closed.

The closures were implemented as work on the school’s House of Healing Coast Salish Longhouse begins later this summer.

Other temporary road closures could occur as crews’ complete utility work in that area.
