BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – If you are heading north on I-5 through Bellingham, you may want to plan some extra time.

WSDOT says the right lane of 1-5 northbound just south of the Sunset Drive (SR 542) exit will be closed Tuesday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 26 for slope repairs.

The work will repair the damage done during the landslide that occurred in October of 2024. The closures will be in place until 2 p.m. on Tuesday and from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

If you are driving through the area, make sure you slow down and give crews plenty of room to work.
