FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – An Everett woman was injured following a crash just off I-5 in Ferndale on Wednesday morning.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Brad Tulloch says the two-car collision occurred on the I-5 on-ramp from Main Street around 8:45 a.m.

Investigating troopers found that one of the drivers had failed to negotiate a curve when they took the northbound off-ramp to Main Street and went airborne.

Their pickup landed on the NB on-ramp from Main Street and crashed into a Nissan.

The 54-year-old driver of the Nissan was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham with a serious, but not life-threatening, injury.

The five people inside the pickup, which included two children ages 5 and 7, refused any aid at the scene.

The driver, who is from Bellingham, was not found to be impaired, but could face a vehicular assault charge, as the incident remains under investigation.
