Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office investigates fatal motorcycle crash in Ferndale

FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is investigating a fatal crash in Ferndale from Sunday night.

WCSO spokesperson Deb Slater says a car collided into a motorcycle at the intersection of Mountain View and Olson Roads around 7:15 p.m.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Whatcom County Medical Examiner identified him as 20-year-old Malakhi Moreau of Ferndale. The manner of death was ruled accidental.

The two people in the car were seriously injured and rushed to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.  Slater says another motorcyclist was also injured in the collision and taken to the hospital.

WCSO isn’t releasing any more information, as an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
