Whatcom County Council to host series of community meetings

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Residents throughout Whatcom County have plenty of upcoming chances to learn more about the new jail, budget process and other pressing issues.

The county is holding a series of community conversations with councilmembers over the next few weeks.

The first takes place at the Point Roberts Community Center on Monday, Sept. 21.

The next meeting is at Round Table Pizza in Bellingham on Oct. 1 in collaboration with the Barkley Neighborhood Association.

After that, councilmembers will be at the Bellingham Covenant Church along with the King Mountain Neighborhood Association on Oct. 7.

The county is also hosting its second annual open house event at the Whatcom County Courthouse on Sept. 30.

It comes as the council will return from a more than month-long hiatus on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
