BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Warm weather is heading our way as summer approaches.

The National Weather Service in Seattle (NWS) says that a high-pressure system will continue to bring clear skies and warmer temps through the weekend in western Washington.

The warm and dry conditions are pretty moderate in Whatcom County, where we can expect to reach a high of 80 degrees on Sunday.

A minor heat risk warning has been issued for our region from Thursday through Sunday.

The NWS adds that the heat risk warning should only be concerning for those very sensitive to heat and do not have access to cooling materials or hydration.

Temperatures are expected to dip lower overnight to about 57 degrees, which the NWS says may provide relief from higher day temps if no cooling system is available.

Head to the forecast page on our website for updated information about this weekend’s weather.
