BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) have announced the release of four new animated fire prevention videos.

The department partnered with an animation company to create the videos that promote awareness and give instructions to the public on how to properly handle outdoor fires.

Funding for the videos came from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as a way to help reduce human-caused wildfire ignitions, which the DNR says accounts for 90% of wildfires.

The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) released a report earlier this month that warned of an earlier start to this year’s fire activity in our area due to warmer temperatures and a lower-than-normal accumulation of rain and snow.
