UPDATE: Police identify suspect in downtown Bellingham assault

BELLINGHAM, WA – (MyBellinghamNow.com) Police have identified the suspect in an assault in downtown Bellingham.

The Bellingham Police Department had previously asked the public for help in identifying the suspect that was caught on surveillance footage from the incident. It took place during the early morning hours of Jan. 12 in an alleyway near Holly Street.

Police say the male suspect punched a victim multiple times before stealing several items, including a pair of white shoes.

His identity has not yet been released by police, as their investigation is ongoing.

Bellingham Police thanked the public for reaching out to their detective and dispatch with the information they needed.
