MOUNT VERNON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A missing teen from Skagit County has been located halfway across the country.

Mount Vernon Police say that they received a tip about the 14-year-old girl’s potential location on Tuesday.

Detectives learned that someone ordered a rideshare to take the teen from her home the night of January 6th to an address in southern Michigan.

Investigators with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan found her at a residence in the town of South Haven.

Deputies arrested a 30-year-old man at the home who has not been identified.

He faces a total of four charges between Michigan and Washington, including kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.

It’s unclear if the teen has been reunited with her family, but Mount Vernon Police say her parents are breathing a sigh of relief.

Editor’s note: due to the criminal conduct alleged in this case, we have removed the name of the victim to ensure her privacy.
