BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The sale of a hot ticket restaurant in Bellingham has been finalized.

The owners of Thai Maison will be taking over the restaurant space currently housing Carnal on State Street in downtown Bellingham.

Co-owner Sukaset “Bank” Sakuntanak confirmed the sale to My Bellingham Now, adding that he approached Carnal owner Skip Williamson the day the business was posted for sale.

Sakuntanak said he and his wife plan to reopen the spot under the name Iki Izakaya and Bar in either early December or beginning of January.

The name “Izakaya” refers to the Japanese-style tavern that serves small bites and shareables, similar to the Spanish tapas.

Sakuntanak emphasizes the business will be family friendly despite having a full bar.

The Carnal team will still keep their next door fast-casual spot Accomplice open for the future as they expand their work in the artisanal jerky business online.
