LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man wanted in connection to a deadly Whatcom County crash has been found dead.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) said that investigators in Guatemala confirmed the suspect, 40-year-old Luciano Ailon-Garcia, recently passed away.

Ailon-Garcia was speeding on Pole Rd in August 2016 when his car missed a curve and ended up in a raspberry field.

One of his passengers, 32-year-old Georgianna James, was ejected from the car and later died from her injuries.

A second passenger sustained broken ribs, while Ailon-Garcia ran from the scene and was never caught.

His escape led to WSP adding him to their “Most Wanted” list in 2017 after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
