OLYMPIA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Funding will soon return for families looking for help keeping their kids fed this summer.

The Washington Dept. of Social and Health Services said that payments for their SUN Bucks program are beginning to roll out this week.

It’s estimated that over 577,000 children will benefit from the program, which offers families $120 per child for summer food assistance.

Families who receive SNAP benefits or who receive free school lunch are automatically enrolled in the SUN Bucks program.

Other families who believe they qualify can apply online through Sept. 4.
