Stanwood man arrested for sexually assaulting a minor in Whatcom County

STANWOOD, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Stanwood man was arrested after being accused of raping a child in eastern Whatcom County.

Court documents state the assault occurred at the victim’s family’s house on July 5. The suspect, identified as a 22-year-old man, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl who was known to him.

The victim reported that she was given alcohol before the alleged assault. A warrant for the suspect’s arrest was issued on Aug. 15

The man was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on Aug. 16 and was bonded out of custody three days later.

His arraignment in Whatcom County Superior Court is scheduled for Aug. 30.
