WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – We may be seeing some snow flurries in lowland Whatcom County this week.

The National Weather Service in Seattle predicts a small amount of snow may be falling throughout western Washington beginning on Monday, Feb. 16.

Only a little accumulation is expected in the lowlands, largely on grass and elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses.

The snowflakes will be an early-hour affair, impacting Whatcom and Skagit Counties as overnight temperatures dip below freezing through Friday, Feb. 20.

Rain is expected to mix in and replace the flakes throughout the week as temps rise daily.

Lynden has a slightly higher chance of seeing snow than places further south, but no more than an inch or so through Wednesday morning.

The weekend will see a warming trend but expect to bundle up if you brave the outdoors before then as Thursday could see a low of 21 degrees overnight.
