SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – One of the region’s most colorful traditions of the year is staying open a little longer this spring.

Three of the five farms taking part in the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival are extending their seasons through Sunday, May 4.

Tulip Town, Tulip Valley Farms and Garden Rosalyn are all taking part in what the festival calls “last chance blooms.”

“The blooms are still showing color, and it’s a joy to keep the gates open just a little longer,” said Tulip Town Owner Rachael Sparwasser. “We prep all year for this season, so any chance we get to extend it is something we truly love. We couldn’t resist letting spring linger just a bit longer.”

Roozengaarde remains open for the entire year, but Skagit Acres, the fifth and newest tulip field, is closed for the season.

Weather for the festival’s final weekend looks promising, with sun and a high of 62 degrees forecast for closing day on Sunday.
