SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Skagit County is officially getting a new superior court judge.

The governor signed the bill into law last month, allowing for Skagit County to add a fifth judge to their bench, matching Whatcom County.

Yakima County Superior Court also received the authorization to expand their bench to nine judges.

Skagit County has authorized the funding for the new judge. Now, an all-call is out for prospective judge applicants for the county.

Applications must include a completed judicial evaluation questionnaire, a resume, an information waiver and at least two letters of recommendation.

Those interested have until Aug. 3 to apply.
