SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Skagit County man convicted of threatening members of Congress has been sentenced.

First Assistant U.S. District Attorney Charles Neil Floyd says that 67-year-old Bradley Whaley will spend six months in prison.

In March 2025, Whaley called and left several voicemails at the D.C. offices of two unidentified members of Congress, threatening to kill them and their staff.

He left his name and phone number in the messages, which led to his arrest at his Seattle workplace later that month.

In a letter sent to the court ahead of his sentencing, Whaley blamed heavy alcohol abuse for his actions.
