BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Upcoming construction will limit access to Boulevard Park over the next few months.

Bellingham Parks and Rec says the Boulevard Park Shoreline project will begin in October and last through December.

The project will enhance and expand the park’s eastern and western beaches, increase public access to Bellingham Bay and implement a number of environmental improvements.

The upcoming construction will reduce public access to parking, the shoreline, trail and turf areas south and west of Woods Coffee.

There will be an alternate trail detour to the boardwalk that’s open to the public during most park hours.

Night work is being planned for low-tide periods, so surrounding residents may hear truck traffic and construction noise during the evening and early morning.

The city expects the project to be complete by spring 2026.
