WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Local shelters are opening back up this weekend as overnight temperatures begin to drop again.
Whatcom County’s severe weather shelter in Bellingham is reopening on the nights of Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14. Check-in runs from 4 to 8 pm at the former Central Lutheran Church on N. Forest Street, with check-out at 8:00 the following morning.
Ferndale’s severe weather shelter will also be open on both Friday and Saturday nights. Check-in runs from 5:30 to 8 pm at the United Church of Ferndale, with check-out at 9:00 the following morning.
The daytime warming shelter in Bellingham is not scheduled to reopen, with temperatures forecast in the mid-40’s.
The Lighthouse Mission will continue to welcome guests daily, with check-in at 7pm and check-out at 8:00 the following morning.
