BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Sedro-Woolley woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to embezzling over a million dollars from Hardware Sales in Bellingham.

Court documents state 46-year-old Amy Siniscarco pleaded guilty in April to wire fraud and falsifying a tax return. Cascadia Daily News was the first to report the plea change.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that she was arrested in January 2023 following a months-long investigation by Bellingham Police.

Over her 12 years at Hardware Sales, Siniscarco forged checks, stole petty cash, transferred company funds to her personal accounts and made unauthorized purchases with company credit cards.

The case was moved to federal court because she used out-of-state servers to wire some of the money to herself.

She was also charged with filing false tax return since she didn’t report receiving the money.

In all, the former assistant manager stole over $1.4 million from the store.

Siniscarco’s sentencing is scheduled for June 26, where prosecutors are recommending a maximum of 33 months in prison.

She’ll also have to pay back all the money to Hardware Sales and over $226,000 in unpaid taxes.
