Sedro-Woolley man sentenced to 10 years in prison following fatal DUI crash in Everson

EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The Sedro-Woolley man who killed a child in an Everson DUI crash last year has been sentenced.

31-year-old Tyler Higdon will spend the next 10 years behind bars following a hearing on the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 22.

My Bellingham Now previously reported that Higdon was driving 100 mph on South Pass Road on Halloween night when he T-boned a car turning left onto Goodwin Road.

The crash killed 11-year-old Yaretzi Davila-Estrada and injured three other people inside the car.

Higdon’s BAC registered slightly above the legal limit at 0.11.

Following his sentence, he will be placed in community custody for a year and a half.
