BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – It was a short-lived life for a second stuffed sloth along I-5 near Bellingham.

The large stuffed animal appeared high in a tree along the northbound lanes near Lake Samish over the weekend.

It was in the same area where the first sloth, known online as “Slothy”, had greeted vehicles for more than a year before Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews removed him last month.

Workers took the second sloth down on the morning of Monday, April 7.

WSDOT says that while they recognize that the animals brought joy to many, placing objects in trees along busy highways is dangerous for travelers and for those climbing to install them.
