BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Puget Sound Energy is bringing more solar power to Whatcom County.

The utility has teamed up with the Port of Bellingham to launch a new community solar project at Zuanich Point Park.

Installed on the Fisherman’s Pavilion roof, the system will generate about 100 kilowatts of power. The project includes a mix of subscriptions for local customers, with a significant portion designated to expand access for income-qualified households.

Since the Community Solar program launch in 2021, the program has expanded to 14 sites with more planned for the future.

“We’re thrilled to work with the Port of Bellingham and our other partners to bring our latest Community Solar site to Whatcom County,” said John Mannetti, Director of Customer Energy Innovation at PSE. “This installation at Zuanich Point Park represents our commitment to making clean energy accessible to all customers, regardless of their housing situation or income level.”
