BRIEF: Police investigating after person found dead at Bellingham encampment

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Police are investigating after a person was found dead in a Bellingham encampment.

Bellingham Police Spokesperson Claudia Murphy says officers found the person unconscious at the encampment on West Maplewood Avenue early on Wednesday, May 15.

Officers and medics attempted to revive the person, but they were later pronounced dead.

Murphy says that nothing suspicious was found at the scene.

The Whatcom County Medical Examiner will determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
