ANACORTES, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The search continues for a person of interest after an Anacortes woman was found dead.

Anacortes Police say that the 41-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her home on J Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

The victim’s husband, a 41-year-old man, was reported as being “possibly suicidal” and was last seen heading toward the Deception Pass Bridge. Washington State Patrol troopers later found the couple’s car parked on the bridge.

Earlier in the day, several people reported seeing a body in the water near Deception Pass Bridge. Crews were unable to locate the body in question.

Anacortes Police strongly suspect the two cases are related.

If you or someone you know is struggling with suicide/mental health, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Hotline.
