LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – There are some added incentives to give back and enjoy a day at the NW WA Fair later this week.

The fair will be holding its first Community Education Day on its opening day on Aug. 7.

Any teacher working in a public, private or tribal school in Whatcom County with a valid ID can get into the fairgrounds for free at Gates 1 and 5.

Others can score free admission on Thursday by donating a new backpack or four school supplies, which will be distributed through Blue Skies for Children.

On Friday, Brown and Brown Insurance will host their annual Food Drive Friday event at the fair.

Anyone who brings in four food items can get into the fairgrounds for free this Friday, August 8.

Brown and Brown will also accept food donations at any of its offices.

Donations will be distributed through the Whatcom Food Bank Network. Find more information at the NW WA Fair website.
