Seahawks News
12’s fans are flying high after a dominant win at home yesterday.
The Seahawks beat the Minnesota Vikings 26-0 for their first shutout victory in 10 years. Ernest Jones IV snagged two interceptions, including an 85-yard pick six, and Seattle’s defense forced two more turnovers against Vikings rookie Max Brosmer in his first career start.
Zach Charbonnet scored the Seahawks’ lone offensive touchdown of the day and they overcame an uncharacteristically quiet game from Jaxon Smith-Njigba to earn their sixth win in seven games. It also moved them back into a tie with the Los Angeles Rams for first place in the NFC West after the Rams fell to the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Week 13 of the NFL season wraps up tonight with the New England Patriots hosting the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. The league-leading Pats will look to secure their 10th straight win, while the Giants will try to avoid dropping their seventh straight in rookie quarterback Jaxon Dart’s return from a concussion.
Coverage begins at 4:00 and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.
Huskies/Cougs News
The Huskies fell in a big rivalry match to their regular season. Washington lost to the Oregon Ducks 26-14 at Husky Stadium on Saturday.
UW trailed by two scores entering the 4th quarter, when Denzel Boston caught his second touchdown of the game to get the Dawgs within striking distance. But the Ducks connected on a 64-yard touchdown pass to put a stamp on the game.
The Huskies end the regular season with an 8-4 record and 5-4 in Big Ten play. They’ll now wait to learn their opponent for a bowl game on Sunday, while the Ducks are almost certainly bound for the College Football Playoff.
Meanwhile, the Cougs notched a win to secure a bowl game appearance.
Washington State beat Oregon State 32-8 in Pullman on Saturday in a rare regular season rematch for the only two teams left in the Pac-12 Conference. The Cougs will now wait to learn their bowl-game opponent to cap off Jimmy Rogers’ first year as head coach.
