The Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays 10-3 earlier today to take a 2-0 lead in the ALCS.

Julio Rodriguez hit a 3-run home run in the first inning to get things rolling and Jorge Polanco and Josh Naylor each hit homers to lead the offensive explosion. Logan Gilbert gave up two earned runs over three innings in the start, while Seattle’s bullpen gave up just a single hit from there.

The series now heads back to Seattle, where the M’s could secure their first World Series appearance in franchise history. First pitch for Game 3 is at 5:08 pm on Wednesday.

Seahawks News

The Seahawks continued their dominance on the road yesterday.

Seattle beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-12 to jump back into a tie for the NFC West division lead.

The Jags took an early 6-0 lead, but the Hawks went on to score 20 unanswered points to secure the win and extend their road win streak to nine.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba highlighted the game with a 61-yard touchdown reception.

He finished with eight catches for 162 yards and now leads the NFL in total yards this season with 696.

With the 49ers’ loss to Tampa Bay, the Seahawks now sit in a three-way tie with the Niners and Rams for first place in the division, all owning 4-2 records.

Next up for Seattle, they’re home against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.

Rutgers entered the second quarter with a 10-0 lead, but the Huskies exploded for three touchdowns in the third quarter to take the lead and never looked back.

Next up, they’ll travel to the Midwest on Saturday to face Michigan, who received the 27th most votes in the rankings.

Meanwhile, the Cougs nearly pulled off the upset of the weekend. They fell to fifth-nationally ranked Ole Miss 24-21 on Saturday.

Washington State led for a majority of the first three quarters, but the Rebels scored a pair of late touchdowns to escape with the win.

The Kraken are off to their first 2-0 start in team history.

They’ll look to make it three straight tomorrow against the Montreal Canadiens in the first of a six-game road trip.
