Seahawks News

A beloved former Seahawk is reuniting with his old teammates in Sin City. Tyler Lockett signed with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier today, joining former Seahawks Pete Carroll and Geno Smith.

Lockett comes to the Raiders days after he was released from the Tennessee Titans, where he caught 10 passes for 70 yards in seven games.

The wide receiver is among the most prolific in Seahawks history, ranking second in franchise history in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He’ll look to help reinvigorate a slumping Raiders offense that’s scoring the second-least points per game in the league.

The Seahawks were on a bye, but that didn’t stop them from moving into first place in the NFC West. With the 49ers’ loss to the Houston Texans, Seattle moved into a first-place tie with the LA Rams while owning the tie-breaker.

Meanwhile, 12’s fans can get an early preview of their next opponent tonight, when the Washington Commanders face the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

The Commanders will be without star quarterback Jaden Daniels, who suffered a hamstring injury in their last game. Former Oregon Duck Marcus Mariota will be starting in his place.

Coverage begins at 4:00 and kickoff is at 5:15 on KPUG.

Sounders News

The Sounders are starting their playoff journey tonight in the opening round of the MLS Cup. They’re playing Minnesota United FC in their first match of their best-of-three series.

Minnesota has home field advantage as the No. 4 seed against the fifth-seeded Sounders. Seattle’s looking to build on a magical season that already includes a Leagues Cup Championship.

Tonight’s match starts at 6:00 from Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Huskies/Cougs News

The Huskies notched their biggest win of the season on Saturday. They beat 23rd-nationally ranked Illinois 42-25 at Husky Stadium to improve to 6-2 on the year.

Demond Williams Jr. threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns and Denzel Boston had 10 catches for 153 yards and a score to lead a dynamic Huskies offense. The win nearly propelled them into the AP Top 25, earning the 28th most votes in the latest rankings.

Next up for UW, they have a bye week before traveling to play Wisconsin on Nov. 8.

Across the state, the Cougs beat Toledo 28-7 in Pullman on Saturday to improve to 4-4 on the season. It helped them avoid a three-game losing streak, as Wazzu now prepares for a showdown against their fellow Pac-2 member Oregon State in Corvallis on Saturday.

Kraken News

The Kraken picked up a win over the weekend to continue their best start in franchise history.

Seattle edged the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Saturday to improve to 5-2-2 on the season. Jordan Eberle scored two goals with Matty Beniers assisting on both to lead the win. Top prospect Berkly Catton added an assist.

The Kraken continue their homestand tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens, where they’ll look to avenge their overtime loss from earlier this season.

Coverage begins at 7:00 and puck drops at 7:30 tomorrow on KGMI.

MLB News

The Dodgers and Blue Jays are knotted at one game apiece as the World Series heads to the West Coast.

LA beat Toronto 5-1 on Saturday to even the series behind a nine-inning masterclass from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He threw his second straight complete game to hold the Jays’ bats silent for most of the night.

It came a day after Toronto exploded for 11 runs in their Game 1 win.

We’ll have Game 3 on the radio for you tomorrow night as the series comes West to LA. First pitch is at 5:00 on KPUG.
