The Bellingham Bells are on the hunt for a new head coach.
The club announced yesterday that former skipper Ed Knaggs is leaving the team to take an assistant coaching position with Gonzaga’s baseball program.
Knaggs guided the Bells to their second-ever West Coast League Championship over the summer in his first year coaching the team. The achievement netted him the league’s Coach of the Year award.
The Bells say their search for a new skipper will begin immediately.
Seahawks News
A key piece on the Seahawks’ defense has been honored for his recent play.
Ernest Jones IV was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after getting two interceptions in Seattle’s win over Minnesota. The fifth-year linebacker added a team-high 12 tackles and two passes defended in the all-around performance that included an 85-yard pick six.
He joins DeMarcus Lawrence as the second Seahawk to win the award this year.
Seattle will look for its third-straight win when it travels cross-country to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Speaking of the Seahawks, a pair of their legendary head coaches will have to wait a bit longer to be immortalized in football history.
Mike Holmgren and Chuck Knox both missed the cut after finalists were announced today for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. 6x Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick earned the sole coaching spot on the ballot out of nine candidates.
The 2026 class will be announced in February 2026 and enshrined the following August.
UW Huskies News
Huskies basketball is back on the radio.
The Washington men are hosting UCLA in their Big Ten Conference opener tonight.
The Huskies are coming off a 13-point loss to Colorado that dropped them to 5-2 on the season. UCLA owns the same record while also coming off a loss.
Sophomore guard Wesley Yates III will look to keep up his hot play as the team’s leading scorer after transferring from USC over the offseason.

WWU Vikings News
Western’s women’s basketball team is also opening conference play tonight. They’re on the road against Montana State Billings in their first game of GNAC play.
The Viks have won four straight games and own a strong 7-2 record. They’ve had no shortage of local products contributing to their success, with Lynden Christian’s Libby Stump and Demi Dykstra along with Sehome’s Aspen Garrison all among their top four scorers.
Tonight’s game tips off at 6:00 local time.
Meanwhile, Western’s volleyball team is playing its first match of the national tournament tomorrow. The 6th-seeded Viks are in San Diego to face 3rd-seeded Fresno Pacific in the opening round of the West Regional.
The Vikings will look to rebound after dropping three of their last four matches to end the regular season, but it won’t be easy against an 8th-nationally ranked Fresno Pacific squad that’s suffered just one loss on the season.

The Sehome girls beat Ferndale 55-46.
The Sehome boys blew by Marysville-Pilchuck 85-69.
The Ferndale boys fell to Snohomish 56-52.
The Blaine boys pummeled La Conner 77-23.
The Blaine girls lost to La Conner 54-21.
The Meridian girls beat Friday Harbor 29-17.
The Lynden Christian girls beat Onalaska 71-51.
The Nooksack Valley girls stumped Sultan 52-8.
And the Nooksack boys followed with a 69-30 blowout win over Sultan.
