WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Labor Day staple in Whatcom County will not be returning to the Deming Logging Show grounds this year.

The North Cascades Bluegrass Festival said in a statement that they will no longer be putting on their annual event.

Co-founders Daniel Tepper and David Starr began the festival in 2016 as a fundraiser for the Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation.

The event quickly outgrew its original location at Hovander Homestead Park and moved to the Deming Logging Show grounds in 2019.

Among some of the reasons for the festival’s cancellation, Tepper and Starr say that ticket sales from north of the border dropped significantly last year.

The festival organizers add that despite their event’s cancellation, they were glad to end on a high note in 2025.
