BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – If you’re on the waiting list for a NEXUS pass, you may be in luck.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) are hosting a three-day enrollment event in Blaine. On June 4-6, the agencies will interview for conditionally approved NEXUS applicants.

The NEXUS pass allows travelers from both Canada and the U.S. to expedite their border crossing wait times, no matter the mode of travel.

Representatives from the agencies said the event is for expanding availability of NEXUS interview appointments and tackling the enrollment backlog.

Authorities urge any interested parties that haven’t applied yet to begin the online application process immediately. Applicants then must schedule an interview for the event held at Blaine’s Trusted Traveler Enrollment Center.

A $50 application fee will cover five years of membership to the program. A background investigation is done on any applicants after completing online paperwork. After receiving a conditional approval, applicants can then schedule an appointment for the event using their application account.
