New round of scam calls target Skagit County residents

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Another round of scam calls have been targeting residents in our region.

The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office says that scam callers have been falsely claiming to be deputies.

Some of the scammers claim that the caller has a bench warrant for missing jury duty.

If you get a call like this, don’t give out any personal information, hang up, and call the Sheriff’s Office business line.

My Bellingham Now previously reported some Whatcom County residents fell victim to similar scams over the past year.
