Mount Vernon teen killed in single car crash in Skagit County

BIG LAKE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A teen was killed in a Skagit County car accident.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) says the teen, identified as 19-year-old Jeffery Delano of Mount Vernon, was driving south on SR 9 Thursday morning.

Just before reaching Big Lake, Delano’s car crossed the center line and slammed into a tree.

Delano was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was in his car and no other vehicles were involved.

WSP has not disclosed whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
