MT. BAKER SKI AREA, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Conditions are getting better and better for a ski or snowboard trip up to Baker.

The Mount Baker Ski Area currently has a base of 57 inches at Heather Meadows with 99 inches at the top of Pan Dome.

The ski area is expecting blue bird conditions with partly sunny skies in the forecast for Monday, Dec. 29 and  Tuesday, Dec. 30. The recent dump of snow has even allowed the ski area to open their iconic run The Canyon.

The National Weather Service is currently forecasting dry weather until New Year’s Day with wet winter weather bringing more snow to the slopes this weekend.

The mountain will be in full operation with all lifts and both lodges open. If you are looking for lessons though, you will need to head up to the Heather Meadows Lodge.
