LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A school bus driver was hospitalized following a crash in Lynden.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater says that the driver was transporting five young students on Friday afternoon. The driver had a medical emergency on Sunrise Rd, which caused the bus to veer off the roadway and into a tree.

Lynden Public Schools Superintendent David VanderYacht said all students were released to their parents. Crews transported the driver to Peacehealth St Joseph Medical Center, but no other injuries were reported.
