LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden man in custody on rape charges is facing even more allegations of sexual assault.

Court documents state that the victim contacted police on April 23 to report an incident that occurred in February of 2023.

The suspect, 20-year-old Nurlan Varner, is accused of sexually assaulting the victim at his home.

Varner has been arrested twice in the past year for similar assaults involving two other victims.

In one instance, he also threatened to kill and dismember a victim, leading to an additional harassment charge.

He has been in custody at the Whatcom County Jail since April 22, where he is being held in lieu of $1.2 million bail.
