Lynden couple arrested after allegedly intimidating a witness

LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden couple who was arrested in a recent drug investigation is back behind bars after allegedly intimidating a witness.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater says that the couple was initially arrested on April 25 on drugs and weapons charges.

46-year-old Benjamin Vallejo was released on $6000 cash bail on April 27, and 31-year-old Ashley Andrews was released the same day on $750 cash bail. The couple went to a witness’ home on Sunday, April 28, where Vallejo repeatedly punched the witness in the face and threatened to kill them.

Both were taken back into custody on Monday, April 29.

The couple now faces new charges of witness intimidation and burglary, as well as an assault charge for Vallejo.
