WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Valentine’s Day is here. That means flowers, chocolates and over-priced meals. If you are looking for something different to do this weekend in Whatcom County, we have you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

Cupid’s Island is currently running through Feb. 21 at The Upfront Theatre (203 Prospect St.) in Bellingham. The fast-paced improvised comedy spoofs the drama and chaos of reality TV.

Be part of an audience that will guide actors as they improvise their way through betrayal, romance, challenges and more.

Will true love win? There’s only one way to find out. For tickets, go to theupfront.com.

If you are single and looking to mingle this weekend, head down to Kulshan Brewing on Friday, Feb. 13.

Single Mingle Trivia runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Roosevelt Taproom (K2). It will feature rotating teams, fun trivia and a great opportunity to meet new people. Sign up to play solo or bring a friend along for the ride.

To sign up, go to kulshanbrewing.com.

If you are looking to get crafty for Valentine’s Day, head to the Bellis Fair Mall for Craft-A-Palooza. It is a fun-filled crafting celebration for the whole family. The first 100 kids in attendance will get a goody bag packed with craft kits and sweets.

Valentine’s Day Craft-A-Palooza runs from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the old Forever 21 location. For all the details, go to bellisfair.com.

You probably brushed up on your Salsa dancing skills in anticipation of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. Now, you can learn to swing dance at The Majestic (1027 N. Forest St.) in Bellingham.

Valentine’s Day Swing Dance runs from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will be a beginner lesson at 7:30 p.m. with the big social dance kicking off at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the dance are $35. To register, go to bhamhop.com.

We have two featured live shows in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

First up, Hayes Carll is bringing his folk country chops to Wild Buffalo on Friday night. Carll is a Grammy nominated singer-songwriter who fuses the alt-country vibes of Townes Van Zandt with the sounds of traditional folk legends like Woody Guthrie and the Carter Family.

Hayes Carll is performing with special guest, Ryan Montbleau. For tickets, go to wildbuffalo.net.

Next up, it’s a rocking Sunday night show at Shakedown in Bellingham.

Portland’s Hoaxed will grace the stage with their brand of epic progressive metal. Fans of Paramore, Halestorm and Tool don’t want to miss this one.

Opening for Hoaxed are Sorcia and Bellingham’s Melancholia. For tickets, go to shakedownbellingham.com.
