WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – This week’s Lifestyle Lookout is all about Bellingham. From the Pacific Northwest’s marquee mountain biking event to car shows to PRIDE and a ton of great live music, choosing what to do won’t be easy.

Northwest Tune-Up runs Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13 on Bellingham’s waterfront. The three-day event features live music, mountain bike and pump track races, vendors, and plenty of local beer, cider and food.

Bellingham’s world-renowned mountain biking scene will be on full display with single-track racing on Galbraith Mountain drawing riders from around the world. There will also be pump track races and demonstrations for spectators to enjoy, along with free bike demos and kids events all weekend long.

Organizers have booked a great line-up of music for this year’s event. Friday night features Harbour, hip hop legends The Pharcyde, The Steeldrivers, Chet Faker (DJ set), and Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9). Then on Saturday, the 4411, Manatee Commune, Brother Ali, The 502s, and indie darlings Silversun Pickups perform.

Tickets vary in price and can be purchased at nwtuneup.com.

There are also plenty of free activities open to the public at NW Tune-Up, including an exhibitor village, the Bellingham Maker’s Market, and live music on the smaller Paulsen Stage.

PRIDE Bellingham is also this weekend for people who want to celebrate with Whatcom County’s LGBTQIA+ community.

It starts on Friday with a Pride Books and Beer event at Ponderosa Beer and Books from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, there will be a Pride Family Picnic from noon to 4 p.m. at Boundary Bay Brewery followed by an all-ages Pride Dance.

PRIDE Bellingham wraps up on Sunday, July 13 with a parade downtown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Pride IN Bellingham Festival at Depot Market Square from noon to 4 p.m.

For all the details, go to prideinbellingham.org.

For all the gearheads out there, there are two car shows to check out this weekend.

The Whatcom County Cruising Association is hosting the Firecracker Car Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Pioneer Park in Ferndale. There will be prizes, a raffle, a trophy presentation, food trucks, vendors and, of course, plenty of cars to check out.

Go to Whatcom County Cruising Association’s website for all the details.

Then on Sunday, the First annual Clean Cut Futures Motor Show is at Bellis Fair Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vehicles there will range from American muscle cars to Hellcats and Harleys.

Clean Cut Futures is a group focused on offering haircuts and changing the lives of incarcerated individuals in the area.

Our featured live show this week is at the Shakedown in downtown Bellingham.

Three killer Bellingham rock bands will perform on Saturday night. Stoner-psych-doom outfits Old World Astronaut and Energy Pyramid will warm the crowd up before Dryland takes the stage with their brand of heavy metal rock and roll.

Fans of Melvins, The Sword and Tool don’t want to miss this one. The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at shakedownbellingham.com.
