WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – June is here and summer temperatures will bless us this weekend. That means it is time to bust out the sunscreen and move about the county. From parades to crafting to live music, we have you covered in this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.
The Lynden Farmer’s Day Parade is on Saturday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. It’s one of the longest running parades in the Pacific Northwest. The parade route runs from 10th St. to 3rd St. on Front St. through iconic downtown Lynden.
Watch as cars, tractors, trucks, horses and more pay homage to the agriculture history of Whatcom County. There will also be live music and delicious treats.

If you are looking for something family-friendly to do in Bellingham, you are in luck. The 2025 Safety Fair is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Regal Cinema parking lots at Barkley Village.
Join Whatcom County first responders for a fun-filled look at what they do. Climb around in fire engines and police cars, check out a rescue helicopter and rescue boats, tour a fire safety house and practice safely riding the bus.

If you are looking to get your craft on, head up to Ferndale on Saturday. The Ferndale Arts Commission is hosting yet another Community Crafting Day at FrinGe Brewing (5640 3rd Ave.) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Kick back, relax and explore your creative side with seasoned crafters and beginners in a laid-back atmosphere that is dog and family friendly.

This weekend’s weather looks perfect for sitting outside in the sun and drinking some great local beer.
Stemma Brewing is hosting the grand opening of their new Stemma West location (508 Carolina St.) in the Sunnyland neighborhood on Friday, Jun 6. There will be live music, raffles and giveaways to celebrate the occasion.

We have a couple of featured shows for you this week.
First up, Austin, TX based singer-songwriter Bob Schneider is performing at Wild Buffalo on Friday night. The former frontman of The Ugly Americans and Scabs has released more than a dozen albums exploring the American landscape.
If you are a fan of country, bluegrass and folk, you don’t want to miss this one. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at wildbuffalo.net.
If you are more into rock music with a capital RAWK, the Shakedown has you covered.
Local surfy deathrock band Gallowmaker is performing on Friday night with a couple great bands from out of town.
Wenatchee’s Datura will open the show with their brand of post-punk. Next up, Seattle’s Anthers will make your ears bleed with their sweet cacophonous blend of psychedelic rock and atonal shoegaze.
