WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Spring is in full bloom as Easter weekend approaches and there are a ton of fun events across Whatcom County. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance, local craft beer will flow at spots across Bellingham and the Mount Baker Ski area will wrap up the 2024-2025 season.

It is the last weekend of operations at the Mount Baker Ski Area, so head up for sunny skies and some spectacular spring skiing and snowboarding. There is still plenty of snow coverage with 140″ at Heather Meadows and 160″ at the top of Pan Dome.

For all the details, go to mtbaker.us.

Of course, the big event this weekend is Easter. Bellewood Farms in Lynden is hosting Easter at the Farm all weekend. There will be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20. Eggs hunts are scheduled every half hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as well.

Lynden-based Queen’s Bluegrass will also be performing both days from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

For all the details, visit bellewoodfarms.com.

If you are looking for a slightly more subdued Easter event, look no further than the Lettered Streets neighborhood in Bellingham. The Covenant Church is hosting an egg hunt at Fouts Park on Saturday at 10 a.m. There will be a special egg hunt area for toddlers, games, an inflatable double slide, snacks and much more offered at this free event.

Fouts Park is located at the intersection of H Street and Ellsworth. Enjoy!

For the adults out there, Easter weekend coincides with the start of Bellingham Beer Week. Running from April 17 to April 27, the annual celebration of Bellingham beer culture culminates with April Brews Day on Saturday, April 26.

There is plenty to do this weekend including an oyster and beer pairing at Aslan Brewing Co., an Easter keg hunt starting at Kulshan Brewing Company’s James Street location, the Fountain Neighborhood Block Party at Good’s, and 4/20 celebrations at Structures Brewing and Otherlands Beer.

For a full list of the events, go to bellinghambeerweek.com.

Our featured live show this week is at the Shakedown on Friday, April 18. Bellingham’s Checker Bloom will captivate the audience with their brand of eclectic indie rock. Their music is infectious and will remind listeners of everything from the Eagles to Queens of the Stone Age.

Checker Bloom is playing with Black Pontiac and Killmer and the show starts at 9 p.m. Go to shakedownbellingham.com for tickets.
