WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – We hope your Fourth of July holiday was fun and relaxing but now it’s time to clean up. Make sure any and all firework debris you caused has been swept up and disposed of properly. If you want to join some other folks to clean up, why not head to the beach?

RE Sources and Surfrider are hosting a cleanup party at Locust Beach in Bellingham. Trash grabbers, gloves and bags will be provided as well as bagels from the Bagelry. An RSVP is not required but you can let RE Sources know you’re taking part on their website.

The Locust Beach cleanup is on Friday, July 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

With summer now in full swing, the Fairhaven Village Green is hopping and Friday night is your night if you’re into belly dancing. Just head down to the green from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. for a free performance from local belly dancers.

Then on Saturday, July 6, it’s the kickoff of Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema with a modern American classic: The Goonies. Bayou Opossums will open it up with a live music performance before the movie starts at 9:40 p.m.

Concessions will be available and tickets can be purchased at the event for $7 cash or $8 by credit card.

We celebrated our nation’s independence on Thursday, and nothing screams American independence like a car show and a fundraiser. The Whatcom County Cruising Association is hosting the Firecracker Car Show on Saturday in Pioneer Park in Ferndale. There will be prizes, a raffle and a chili for all. All food donations from this event will go to the Ferndale Foodbank.

The Firecracker Car show runs tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and admission is free.

Our featured live show this week is next Tuesday, July 9 at the Wild Buffalo. Portland rockers Red Fang will bring their brand of sludgy, stoner metal to downtown Bellingham. In the past, they’ve opened for bands like Helmet, Disturbed and Megadeth.

Red Fang is playing with Spoon Benders. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and you can buy your tickets at wildbuffalo.net.
