WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – After a brief lull in festivals here in Whatcom County, three of our fine cities are stepping up this weekend to bring fun to the streets. Culture, music, history and craft are all highlights of this week’s Lifestyle Lookout.

The 2025 Bellingham Greek Festival runs through Sunday, Sep. 7 at Saint Sophia Church (51 East Sunset Dr.) This local tradition brings Greek food, music and culture together for the masses to enjoy.

Delicacies like spanakopita, souvlakia, gyros and baklava will be served. Attendees can also enjoy Greek wine and beer at the event’s taverna. Plus, docent-led church tours will be available during the event.

Bellingham Greek Festival is a free event. Go to bellinghamgreekfest.org for all the details.

Not to be outdone by Bellingham, Ferndale is hosting a festival of its own. Jam on the River runs Friday, Sep. 5 through Saturday, Sep. 6 at Centennial Riverwalk Park.

There will be live music, food trucks and a beer garden featuring beer from FrinGe Brewing and District Brewing on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, the event runs from noon to 8:30 p.m. with live music, games, vendors, kids activities and more.

Jam on the River is a free event. For all the details, go to the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce’s website.

Farther north, Lynden is stepping up with the Lynden Whiskey Event on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. A fundraiser for the Lynden Music Festival, the Whiskey Event features whiskey, vodka and wine tastings, live music, a beer garden from Overflow Taps, vendors and more.

Our featured live show this week is at the Shakedown in Bellingham.

Local grunge-pop band Full Color Dream will rock the stage on Sunday along with Seattle’s Wiseacre and Portland’s Killmer.

The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at shakedownbellingham.com or at the door.
