EVERSON, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A juvenile was arrested following a drive-by shooting in Everson on Wednesday night, where no one was hurt.

Everson Police said on social media that shots were fired near East Main Street and Greens Lane around 9:30 p.m.

Witnesses told officers that they saw a silver SUV playing loud music in the area before hearing multiple gunshots.

Police say no injuries or property damage have been reported.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies later found a vehicle matching the witnesses’ description, which led them to a nearby residence where they arrested a male juvenile.

A search warrant for the vehicle and the residence recovered a pistol with the serial number removed, ammunition that matched shell casings found at the scene and other evidence that police aren’t disclosing.

The suspect was taken to juvenile detention and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Everson Police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
