June is a great time to buy or sell a home – here’s why

Ah, June. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and school’s out — which means it’s prime time for “We should totally move this summer!” conversations over backyard BBQs. And did I mention that June is National Homeownership Month?! Well, it is! Whether you’re buying, selling, or just browsing listings for sport (we see you, Zillow window-shoppers), June is one of the hottest months in real estate!

So grab your iced coffee, your favorite pair of flip-flops, and let’s dive into the June real estate vibe.

Historically, June is one of the busiest months for home sales. Why? Because the weather is perfect for open houses, families want to settle in before the next school year, and let’s be honest — everything looks better with a little summer sunshine.

Buyer Tip: If you’re shopping in June, be ready to move quickly. Pre-approval is your BFF. Homes in hot areas don’t stick around long — they sell faster than popsicles at a kids’ soccer game.

Seller Tip: Take advantage of the season. Fresh flowers, mowed lawns, and open windows with a breeze can make your home feel like a dream. Bonus: Longer daylight hours = more showing opportunities.

Oh and June 6th is National Donut Day so let’s host an open house! I’m not saying donuts will sell your house, but I’m also not not saying that either. Free Donuts = more traffic! (Ok, it’s sugar, but same vibe.)

And let’s not forget Father’s Day on June 15th! What a great gift – house hunting! Ok, maybe that’s only great in my mind, but what a great feeling to find home that has an amazing tool bench, three car garage or epic man cave!

So, if you are ready to buy, let’s get you in touch with a great lender to get pre-approved and if you’re ready to sell, let’s get your home ready show! Just like you wouldn’t wear socks with sandals (please don’t), your listing should look its summer best.

June is a magical real estate month — filled with energy, enthusiasm, and lots of “Let’s just peek at this one house real quick…” turned “OMG we just bought a house!” moments.

Whether you’re selling your starter home, buying your dream one, or just figuring out your next move, this month is ripe with opportunity.

So soak up the sun, enjoy the festivities, and remember — I’m here to help with all your real estate goals, big or small.

Let’s make your move the highlight of your summer.
