BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A chain of craft stores will be shutting its doors for good, including a location in Bellingham.

King5 reports that fabrics and craft retailer JOANN is shutting down their remaining U.S. store locations after over 80 years in business. This comes after closures were announced earlier in February at some locations throughout the country.

The JOANN location in Sunset Square is among these remaining locations, but the store says a confirmed closing date has not been announced yet.

Bloomberg reports the company recently auctioned off a majority of their assets to a group of lenders including the GA Group. The winners of the auction plan to conduct going-out-of-business sales in the coming days as they wind down business.

The retailer has a short blurb on their website thanking customers for their support of the fabric store.

“Your overwhelming demonstration of how much everybody loves Joann has meant more to us than you know. Although we regrettably will be closing some stores, we are grateful to continue our mission of inspiring creativity in our customers online and in stores across the country,” the website says.
