FERNDALE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A park in Ferndale is back open following its second closure due to flooding.

Whatcom County Parks and Recreation says that most of Hovander Park is now open and accessible to the public.

The playground and some other areas within the park are still closed for repairs.

Crews initially closed the park during the December floods and were able to reopen it at the end of January. But this month’s atmospheric river forced a second full park closure on March 21.

Parkgoers are urged to respect any closure signs and to stay out of work areas.
